Tokyo Library

Yuki walked into the doors pulling her hood more over her eyes she silently walked past the reception desk. She looked through all the book in the fiction section and decided "Hush" looked like a good book picked it up and took a seat in a cushioned chair near the back of the room. "I know I shouldn't be in here with my hood up like this they'll eventually come and ask me to take it off, but I can at least keep it on for this long." She cracked the book open and began to read.

Sure enough after a few minutes of reading a librarian came over and politely asked her to take her hood off. Not wanting to cause a scene she did what she asked and the librarian left. Yuki was surprised that she didn't ask if she was the Yuki Hayase the daughter of the Hiroyuki Hayase. She shrugged it off and continued reading placing her left hand on her neck. Only a few weeks before did she find this on her neck sometimes it would glow and light up dark areas. It kinda looked like some of the marks that she saw on those "Mew Mews" on t.v. She thought she couldn't be a mew mew though she's just a normal teenage girl hiding from the world.

Toxin was hiding in the air ducts of this lovely library. Why? Because she was on a mission. Two guys had been planning to rob this library over a week so they could sell the books for their own profit, as well as grab anything else that could provide some wealth. Toxin hated people like this and decided to put a stop to them. Toxically. She walked along the ducts like a nibble cat as she watched the two boys walk around by this girl who had her hood taken off by the librarian. Toxin's eyes glowed as well as her toxic tattoo. She made sure one of her good weapons, her bow and arrow, was ready since this was a public place and intoxicating wasn't going to be a good idea. So she made sure she was ready for her attack. Right as she was ready, it happened. The two men pulled out their guns and shouted everyone to get to the ground and throw out their valuables and put their hands on their heads. Toxin watched closely as she opened a panel and prepared for her attack. After a minute before they started their threats and shooting, toxin attacked. Landing on one of the men did she pull out her bow and shoot one of the attackers in their shoulder causing them to fall to the ground. Toxin then used her tail and wrapped it around the other dude before pounding his head in the floor. Then, having her toxic blood drip from her fingers, she inserted them into the man and he fell in a struggle of trying to stay alive. Before being stopped by anyone, Toxin ran outside in a flash and rested by the water.

"That went...smoothly....."

She sighed heavily as she watched her reflection in the water, her ears twitching.

Yuki blinked in fear as she watched the scene in her front of her. She put her hood back up and held her knees close to her cowering. How did this happen she didn't think anyone would do something like that in a library. It was so uncommon for this to happen. "W-what!?" she shut her eyes and heard everything. When she opened her eyes she saw someone that looked like a mew mew she watched as she basically rescued her. No one has ever done that for her and she had to pursue her and thank her for what she has done. She got up slowly so that she wouldn't pass out and she ran after.

Watching her sit down by the fountain she shouted after her "Miss, Miss!!" She waved to get her attention hopefully with the ears she saw she would be able to hear her clearly. "I have to ask you something!" she kept waving until she ended up at the fountain panting. "I... Have... to... thank... you...." she held up her hand quickly so she could catch her breath. "You saved me... I thank you for that..." She smiled lightly and tugged her hood up which had fallen off when she was running.

Toxin was relaxing by the fountain as she was injecting some of her toxic chemicals to replace the blood she lost from injecting it into the thug. Her ears flickered as well as her tail as they nearly glowed because of how bright she was. Toxin sighed as her ears twitched hearing some one running towards her. Toxin couldn't get up and flee, due to her still injecting the poison. So she decided to stay. But would stay quiet as much as possible, not really enjoying being seen as the monster she was. Toxin looked up to the girl and smiled slightly as she pulled the needle out and placed it in her pocket.

"Your welcome. Its what i do."

Toxin carried a heavy Russian accent as she spoke, due to living in Russia her whole life. She yawned as she closed her eyes, letting the blood ingest what she placed in it. Otherwise she could become faint or the blood would go negative and cause an antidote within her body, then making her really sick and possibly die. She didn't want that.

She smiled softly "You're a mew mew aren't you?" She nodded thinking she was right "I've seen you on t.v. you help so many citizens!" She raised her hands, but then realized she had thrown back her head so she caught her hood before her glowing mark was seen. "But I also came over here to ask you another question..." She shuffled her feet before removing her hood so the hero could see "I got this a few weeks ago and I don't know if it's cause I'm seeing things or cause I'm a mew mew too..." she then quickly put her hood back up tightening the strings.

She then plopped down on the ground by the fountain huffing feeling relived that she got that out to someone.

Toxin looked at her oddly. She had no idea what the girl was saying. Well, not completely at least. She knew who the mews were, but she didn't belong to them. And she highly doubted that those girls had to go through what she did to become like this. Part of her actually hated them because they made it seem cool or easy. Painless. That was far from the truth. It wasn't a gift, it wasn't something to be proud of. The mews, to her, where playing a joke. A very cruel joke in her eyes. Toxin growled as the girl continued to talk about them.

"I have nothing to do with those stupid mew mews! They are a joke to what I am! If I told you how i became the way i am, you'd have nightmares. Don't compare me to those frauds!"

Toxin's green and black ears laied flat against her head as her tail curled close to her. Her markings on her face glowed as she narrowed her eyes on the girl. If this girl was a mew and if she even dared to try and have her join, there would be trouble. Toxin felt no sympathy towards them, and could care less about the aliens that have been attacking. All she cared about was finding why she was what she was and protecting the people. That was all.

Yuki blinked "Oh I just thought you were the ears the tail... It just made me think you were..." She frowned and looked at the ground "Then you can't explain my mark can you?" she sighed she had showed someone that she could possibly be a mew mew and they weren't even a mew mew. "I'm sorry to have bothered you... Please don't tell anyone... I can't afford to be recognized..." she stood up and bowed politely and began walking back into the library to check out the book she was reading before.

"I'm still happy that you rescued me I would have never been able to do that." she turned her head back a little so she could catch her smile then she turned back and pulled her hood strings tight.

"Vhat? So you valk avay vhen? Do you vant to knov vhat happened to me?"

Toxin began to speak heavier in her russian accent as she watched the girl walk away. Toxin didn't get her. One minute she's discussing how she might be a mew mew and then walks away when Toxin says she isn't. Toxin couldn't understand this. She didn't say the girl had to leave. She just didn't want to talk about the mews. She thought the girl would at least ask how she became the way she did. Toxin just didn't get people at times. Then again, Toxin was used to people asking her questions about her, and something told her thats what she should be used to. But she didn't know. Toxin sighed as her ears perked up slightly as she continued to watch the girl walk away. Toxin also didn't get why she kept wearing a hoodie. Nothing made sense to her anymore.

Yuki turned around "I'm sure it's important to you, but I feel like it would bring up bad memories... I don't want to do that to you." she smiled softly. She then noticed that the girl was eyeing her hoodie. "You want to know why I wear this hoodie?" she gestured to her sweat shirt pulling on the strings to tighten the hood more. She then realized this girl didn't recognize her at all when she took her hood down. Was she new to Tokyo? Did she not see the signs everywhere? She shrugged and sighed "I'm Yuki Hayase..." She said that hoping that her name would help with why she wears the hoodie.

Toxin just blinked and watched the girl. She had a more relaxed, happier expression than a serious one at this point. Almost one of confusion. She was trying to wrap her head around this all. Toxin shrugged as the girl stated bad memories. She nearly laughed. The only thing she could tell the girl was that she was from russia and never looked like this when she was little. Otherwise the rest was vanquished. Not completely though. She still had fears od needles at times, sleeping, being in cramped rooms, but couldn't tie whys he was. So Toxin assumed that she had been through something horrible. Hence why she said it give the girl nightmares. Toxin sure did. Screams from people, little kids, herself. Thats what haunted her dreams. So she rarely slept.

"If I had memories. I can't remember anything, except that I was born in Russia and I never looked like...this."

Toxin sighed before giving the girl a pure confused and puzzled look. She blinked rapidly as she tried to understand. What was so important about her. So she had a long last name. What was so special. Toxin didn't live her long. Only 3 years. 2 of those years she had been in hiding. She's never indulged herself into Tokyo. She's never indulged into anything besides what was importance to her. She never enjoyed watching tv, going out, eating sweets. None of it. She rescued people, then went to her 'hide-out' and tried to sleep or practice fighting or made more bows and arrows.

"Ooookay. Ummmmm, I'm......Toxin Vulpe....."

She looked confused and tilted her head "You don't have any memory? Well I guess that could be taken in a good way maybe..." she gave a reassuring smile to her and when she saw the expressing she was making she gave her self a face slap and shook her head looked around for a billboard finding one she pointed at it saying "Hiroyuki Hayase is my father... He's the head of that company... Too many know me and think I'm a spoiled brat or think that they can ask me for expensive things and that I'll buy it for them..." She sighed thinking that now that she knows she's going to ask for things like that. Then she thought well maybe cause she said all of that she wont just know that she's rich.

Toxin blinked and shrugged as she listened to the girl in silence. Toxin's eyes dropping to the water. She stared at the reflection of herself. She wanted to remember. Who was she. What was she. Why was she like this. Whats her purpose. She didn't know. All she did know was that she was never liked this. She was different. So what changed her? Toxin wanted to visit the land of her birthplace but never did. She didn't know what would happen. Plus, the area was still high in radiation. Not that it mattered. Toxin sighed as she then looked back at the girl, her ears twitching. The girl was rich. She blinked and shrugged. She never cared for money. She actually never made any. Yes, she stole when she needed too, but it was so she could survive. She could never work. At least not how she looked. No one would accept her. Toxin closed her eyes as her ears went mid flat.

"Sorry...I....guess. Never saw a need for money. Well.....I can't even earn money with the way I look. No one wants a freak.....a monster."

Toxin hugged her knees close to her as she begun to close herself off, glaring at the reflection that stared back at her.

Yuki blinked and looked down to the ground "I'm sorry... I just thought you wanted to know..." She fiddled with her fingers and swayed back and forth on her heels. She then looked up in excitement holding one finger up "Wait I'll get a job somewhere! I'll recommend you! It'll be that easy plus I've been wanting to find a way to earn my way in life and not just live under my fathers name..." She smiled trying to make Toxin feel better. "I know it might not be much, but I wanna try and help you! You aren't a monster to me... Heck you saved my life! I can't see you as a monster... plus I think the ears and tail are kinda cute!" she kept swaying back and forth on her feet waiting for her to be over joyed with all this information she just came up with. "Maybe we could even be friends!" she thought.

Toxins ears twitched up and she looked to Yuki with a small smile. She stood up and walked over to her. Her hands rested in her pockets of her over sized sweatshirt. Toxin had turned her cold shell down a bit and decided to be more relaxed and kinder to someone who wanted to help her. She usually wasn't so opened to the idea, but maybe this could be her one chance. Not many people offered acceptance and kindness to the likes of her. Toxin's tail swagged with joy as well as her ears twitching with joy. Toxin kept a cool smile as she decided to fallow Yuki.

"Alright. I'll fallow you. This could be.....interesting...."

She decided that if anyone asked, she was a cosplayer. They were popular around her. She'd just be very convincing.

She clapped in enjoyment it wasn't quite the reaction she was going for, but she was happy either way. She was finally able to make someone happy without buy them expensive things. This was the closest she's ever gotten to making a true friend. "Yay! I'll apply everywhere I can I'll try and find a good place to work!" She clapped her hands together holding them in front of her face smiling proudly. "I'll go into town and find us both a good job, I'll bet you're a hard worker it shouldn't be hard to find a good job for the both of us!" She smiled thinking of actually doing something with her life, not having to hide behind her hoodie anymore. "This just makes me so happy! I might not ever need to wear this hoodie again people will start to know me for me! Not just Yuki Hayase, Hiroyuki Hayase's daughter! I'll make a name for myself!" she spun around in happiness not caring who saw. "I'll call myself Nina Smith! That's my mother's maiden name after all no one will know it's me!!!"

Toxin smiled watching her. This was something Toxin was never used to be around. Anytime some one actually got a glimpse of her, they'd throw objects and call her a freak or a monster. But this was welcoming. Something Toxin never had experienced in her whole life. And Toxin liked this. It made her feel less hated and more wanted. Maybe this could improve her hard cold exterior to open up more. Toxin's ear twitched as she smiled and begun to rock on her heels, her tail giving her balance like a kangaroo's.

"Hey. I never experienced....'nice' or 'happiness' in my life. So, don't freak out or get upset if I don't understand something or act out of character. But.....I'm guessing.....we're....friends now?"

Toxin tilted her head to the side as she watched Yuki closely. Toxin never had friends. And Toxin never saw a need for them. But she now realized that friends could be something that she not only needed...but wanted too. It made her smile more as her brown eyes glimmered a bright red in the sunlight. Toxin then got an idea and walked up to Yuki and tugged on her hoodie, quiet roughly.

"Hey, blondă, come on. I know a place that could be fun to work at."

Toxin had a bad habit of giving nick names to people. And Yuki's, blondă, meant blonde, which was going off of her long blonde hair. Toxin begun to pull Yuki along with her hood, giving no effort, and kept her free hand in her pocket.

Yuki jumped around more feeling so happy. "Yay! I think this is one of the first friends I've ever had! I can't believe this feels so great!!" she smiled and swayed and jumped around until Toxin took her by the hood catching her she went chibi with tears in her eyes "Why did you do that?" She went back to normal hearing what she said and became happy again "Oh yeah where!? Oh boy I can't wait to see it somewhere I can be myself!" as Toxin began pulling her she began to follow hoping that she would let go of her hood so she could just walk next to her. She was almost skipping with happiness.

Toxin chuckled as she watched the girl. How could a stubborn, cold hearted, monster, freak like herself be friends with this giddy over exciting girl. She had no idea. But if anyone could turn Toxin's personality around, it was probably her. They both feared society, so they sort of had something in common. Of course this friendship would take time, but Toxin thought she'd give it a shot. Toxin soon let go and calmly walked to where she saw this cafe. She'd only been there once, but wore a disguise so she could eat....then run away without being noticed. Yes, Toxin dinned and dashed. But she had no choice. She had no money. She sort of didn't even know what money was since she was never taught. Or at least didn't remember. Toxin closed her eyes as she hummed a Russian tune with a smile as she walked to the cafe listening to the girl go on and on.
